2. Legal basis and purpose

We will confine the processing of personal data to what is necessary at all times, and ensure that the processing of those data is carried out in accordance with applicable legislation. As an example, we will always ensure a valid legal basis before processing your personal data, and we will never process your personal data for other purposes than those for which the personal data was originally collected, unless you have provided us with a consent or the new purpose is compatible with the original purpose.

We will normally collect the personal data we need directly from you, allowing you to keep track of which personal data we process. However, in some cases we may receive personal data from external third parties, e.g. schools applying for transportation services on behalf of their students. We may also collect data to the extent necessary to provide our services. You can read more about how we collect personal data for each processing activity below.

Some of our suppliers use subcontractors located in the US, meaning that your personal data may also be transferred there. In such cases, we have ensured that the subcontractors are subject to the same obligations as those applicable within the EU/EEA, either because the subcontractor is registered as an approved company under the
Data Privacy Framework or the transfer is based on the EU Commission's standard contractual clauses (SCC).

Your profile information will be stored as long as you have a contractual relationship with us. Still, you may request that we delete your user account at any time. Please note that if you request your user account to be deleted, you will have to register a new account if you want to use the application at a later occasion. Please also note that you can edit your personal data at any time in the user settings.

Sales documentation is stored for five years after the end of the accounting year, cf. the Accounting Act section 13 with accompanying regulations. Receipts from purchases completed within the last 20 months are available in the Skyss Billett application and the web portal for SMS tickets.
