In Tertnes in Bergen, you can book the bus to come to you! The bus runs from Monday to Friday, from 08.30 until 12.00 and from 12.45 until 16.30.
What is book-and-ride transport in Tertnes?
Book-and-ride transport in Tertnes is a trial project that will run for two years. As far as practically possible, the book-and-ride bus will pick you up wherever you wish and take you to your desired destination, within a specific area (see map below «Which areas does the book-and-ride bus cover?»).
Tertnes has a few winding roads, which means that the bus cannot always drive right to your door to pick you up. However, the driver will always be available to help you to the bus if required.
The bus has room for 14 passengers and is universally designed. There is space for two wheelchairs (or prams), rollators or two-wheel scooters.
Which areas does the book-and-ride bus cover?
As shown in the map below, you can be picked up and driven to your desired destination within the Tertnes area, Åsane Terminal, Åsane centre, Horisont and Åsane cemetery.
What times does the bus run?
The bus runs from Monday to Friday from 08.30 until 12.00 and from 12.45 until 16.30.
How do I book a bus journey?
There are three different ways you can book bus transport:
- Download the app Skyss Bestilling, and book via the app
- Online via: bestilling.skyss.no
- Call us on +47 55 55 90 99, between 08.00 and 17.00, Monday to Friday
By using the app Skyss Bestilling or by booking online, you have a good overview and control of your booking. You can see on the map where you can be picked up at your door, or find the location of the nearest pick-up point. It will also be possible to track the bus along its route and see when it is expected to reach the agreed stop.
If you book via the app or online you can add any special notes, for example, that you will be using a wheelchair, or have a pram with you. This can be a good idea, as there is only room for two wheelchairs at one time.
Using the app or online also allows you to change your pick-up time and cancel your journey as required.
When you make a booking, you will receive a confirmation by text message.
How much does book-and-ride cost and how do I pay?
The bus costs the regular ticket price: NOK 22 for concessions and children, and NOK 44 for adults. You can find more detailed price information here.

Please note that you will have to pay an additional cash surcharge if you purchase a ticket on board using cash.
You must book a pick-up yourself, even if you have a season ticket.
Who can use this service?
The service is available to anyone who needs to be picked up by the bus.
When can I book the bus?
You can book the bus as early as seven days in advance and as late as 30 minutes before departure. There may be others who wish to travel at the same time as you. In such case there may be a 15-minute wait for the bus. You will receive updated information in the app or by text message stating what time the bus is expected to arrive.
