Travel products and travel account

Individual Travel is valid for one journey on a specific route or within a specific area. Individual Travel can be purchased from the driver when boarding the bus and the passenger must keep hold of the receipt during the journey.

• For adults
  Applies to persons from the age of 16 and up. Group discount for groups of 3 persons or more travelling together.
  
  
• For children
  Children from the age of 4 and older and until the age of 16 have the right to a 50% discount on ordinary prices. Children under the age of 4 travel free of charge.
  
  
• For senior citizens
  Senior citizens have the right to 50% discount on ordinary prices. This applies to persons over the age of 67, disabled persons with a disability pension, the blind, spouses/registered partners travelling together with a person who is entitled to a senior citizen ticket. Valid additional ID must be presented.
  
  
• For students
  Students/pupils/apprentices up to the age of 32 who travel through at least 7 zones are granted 23 % discount on ordinary prices. This applies to full-time students at universities and colleges, pupils at upper secondary school, apprentices and apprentice candidates (does not apply to adult education students). Valid additional ID must be presented.
  
  
• For conscripts
  Conscripts and civil servicemen are granted 50% discount on ordinary prices. The lowest rate is the same as the ordinary rate for 2 zones. Valid additional ID must be presented.
  
  
• For families
  An adult or senior citizen with an individual ticket can have a child with them (between the ages of 4 and 16) free of charge. Children under the age of 4 travel free of charge.
  
  
• For groups
  A group is defined as three or more people travelling together. Adults in a group are granted 23 % discount on ordinary prices. Children and senior citizens are not granted group discount.
  Children under the age of 4 travel free of charge and are not counted in the number of people in a group.

Daily Travel is valid for an unlimited number of journeys within the Bergen Zone* for a period of 24 hours from the first time the travel product is used/activated set price (no discounts available). Daily Travel is not valid for journeys when the night rate applies.

* Bergen Zone:
- Town centre and neighbouring areas
- Arna (out to and including Trengereid)
- Fana (out to and including Søfteland in Os)
- Straume (out to and including the Kolltveit tunnel)
- Kleppestø (out to and including Florvåg and Strusshamn)

FlexiTravel is valid for several individual journeys on a specific route or within a specific area. FlexiTravel is available with both anonymous and personal travelcards. FlexiTravel can only be used by one person at a time and has to be activated for each journey. FlexiTravel is valid for one year from the first time the product is used. There are no refunds for journeys which have not been used if the product has expired.

• For adults:
  12 journeys with 23 % discount on ordinary prices for adults.
  
• For children/senior citizens:
  10 journeys with 50 % discount on ordinary prices for adults
  

Periodic Travel is valid for an unlimited number of journeys on a specific route or within a specific area. Periodic Travel is only valid on a personal travelcard and for 7, 30 or 180 days from the first day the product is used/activated. Periodic Travel must be activated within 30 days of the purchase date.

• For children
  Periodic Travel for children includes 50% discount on ordinary prices. Applies to all children between the ages of 4 and 16.
  
  
• For senior citizens
  With Periodic Travel, senior citizens have the right to 50% discount on ordinary prices. This applies to persons over the age of 67, disabled persons with a disability pension, the blind, spouses/registered partners travelling together with a person who is entitled to a senior citizen ticket. Valid additional ID must be presented.
  
  
• For students
  Periodic Travel for students/pupils/apprentices up to the age of 32 provides 40 % discount on ordinary prices, rounded up to the nearest NOK 5. This applies to full-time students at universities and colleges, pupils at upper secondary school, apprentices and apprentice candidates (does not apply to adult education students). Valid additional ID must be presented.
  
  

Periodic Travel bus/train is valid for an unlimited number of journeys by bus and NSB local trains (Bergen - Voss) on a specific route or within a specific area. This product is only valid on a personal travelcard and for 30 days from the first day the product is used/activated.

• For adults:
  Applies to persons from the age of 16 and up.
  
  
• For students:
  Students/pupils/apprentices up to the age of 32 are granted a 40% discount on adult prices. This applies to full-time students at universities and colleges, pupils at upper secondary school, apprentices and apprentice candidates (does not apply to adult education students). Valid student ID must be presented.

Youth Travel is valid for persons from and including the age of 16 until the month they turn 20. Pupils at upper secondary schools who have not turned 16 can also buy Youth Travel, but must document that they are pupils of an upper secondary school by showing their school acceptance certificate. Youth Travel is only available with a personal travelcard. Valid identification must be presented to ticket inspectors.

Youth Travel is valid on buses, ferries and express boat services in the region and on the Bergen Light Rail service and local trains, for journeys to or from the regional border. The product is not valid for journeys with night-time prices, with the exception of the “Safe Home” routes. Youth Travel is valid for 30 days from the first time the product is used/activated. Youth Travel must be activated within 30 days of the purchase date.

NB! Remember to keep your activation receipt for journeys on local trains, ferries and express bus services.

Cash Travel is an “account” on your Skyss travelcard which provides 23% discount on ordinary prices for individual journeys. The minimum deposit on your Cash Travel account is NOK 200, and the maximum NOK 1,500.

Cash Travel can be used to pay for all travel products, but does not provide further discount on products which are already discounted.

Cash Travel can be used as a means of payment for a number of passengers. It is valid for both anonymous and personal travelcards. However, if Cash Travel is used on a personal travelcard, the card holder must be present. 

You can register your most frequent journey (Zone Bergen or line) as Favourite on your Skyss Travelcard. With Favourite, you can use the rear entrance on the bus or go straight on board Bergen Light Rail and register your Skyss Travelcard.

Top up your Skyss Travelcard (Cash Travel), choose your Favourite and register your Skyss Travelcard on the card reader on board. When you use Cash Travel, you get a 23% discount (Individual Travel adult), and the price of the journey is automatically deducted from your Cash Travel account. The journey is confirmed when the card reader shows a green light and the text “Gyldig reise” (Valid journey). You can register Favourite for an area (e.g. Zone Bergen*) or line (e.g. Osøyro to Nesttun terminal).

*Zone Bergen includes the zones 110-111-114-117-121-142-143. This area includes the city centre and surrounding districts, on to Arna as far as Trengereid, Fana as far as Søfteland in Os, Straume as far as the Kolltveit tunnel, and Kleppestø as far as Florvåg and Strusshamn.

How to proceed at the ticket machine:

• Register your Skyss Travelcard at the ticket machine.
  
  
• Top up your Skyss Travelcard (Cash Travel).
  
  
• Buy an “EnkeltSkyss” (Individual Travel) and press ”Ja” (Yes) in response to the question of whether to add the line as Favourite (“legge til som Favoritt”).
  
  
• Register your Skyss Travelcard on the card reader on board.
  
  
• The next time you travel, the amount will automatically be deducted from your Cash Travel account and the card reader will show a green light and the text ”Gyldig reise” (Valid journey). The amount remaining in your Cash Travel account will be displayed on the screen on the card reader.

How to proceed on the bus:

• Top up your Skyss Travelcard (Cash Travel).
