Travel products for students
If you are a student up to the age of 32 and travel regularly by bus or the Bergen Light Rail service, a Student Periodic travelcard is your best option. Students are granted a 40 % discount on ordinary adult prices for Periodic Travel.
You need a Personal Travelcard if you want to qualify for Student Periodic Travel. You can purchase your Student Periodic Travel one day and activate it another day (up to 30 days), if preferable.
Order a personal travelcard
If you only travel by bus or the Bergen Light Rail service infrequently, Cash Travel with a favourite journey is a good alternative. Cash Travel is an “account” on your Skyss Travelcard which provides 23 % discount on ordinary prices for individual journeys. The minimum deposit on your Cash Travel account is NOK 200, and the maximum NOK 1,500.
With Favourite, you can use the rear entrance on the bus or go straigth on board Bergen Light Rail and register your Skyss Travelcard. Favourite is available with both anonymous and personal Travelcards. Top up your Travelcard on the bus, at ticket machines or in our customer centre in Bergen Storsenter.

Valid travel document
You are responsible for ensuring that you are in possession of a valid travel document at any time during your journey. As a student, the following travel documents are acceptable:
- valid travel product (on the Skysskort Travelcard, one-time card or paper ticket) and
- valid identification and
- valid student identity
